Medical Disclaimer
The information on diabeticfoot.care is general information about diabetic foot problems. It is written for adults in the United Kingdom and their families, and it is based on published guidance.
Not a diagnosis or treatment plan
Nothing on this website is a diagnosis, a prescription or an individual treatment plan. Diabetic foot problems can change quickly and need to be assessed in person by a healthcare professional who can examine your foot. Always follow the advice of your own GP, diabetes team, podiatrist or foot protection service.
Emergencies
This website cannot help in an emergency and messages are not monitored for urgent problems. If you are in the UK:
- Call 999 or go to A&E if you have signs of sepsis, a foot that is turning black or cold, or rapidly spreading redness and you feel very unwell.
- Contact your GP practice, your diabetes foot protection service or NHS 111 the same day for a new wound, a red, hot or swollen foot, pus or a bad smell.
Specialist assessment abroad
Assessment by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüsrev Diktaş takes place in Istanbul, Türkiye. It is not an NHS service. Contacting the specialist does not create a doctor–patient relationship until an assessment has been agreed, and it does not replace your care in the UK. No treatment result can be guaranteed.
